Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Luvo Spofana, trading as Summon It, of 270 Von Willich Avenue, Die Hoewes, Centurion ("we", "us"), collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use summon-it.co.za, in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Information we collect

When you place an order, we collect:

  • Name, delivery address, email address, and phone number.
  • Order details — items purchased, quantities, and order value.
  • Payment is handled entirely by PayFast; we never receive or store your card number, expiry date, or CVV.

How we use your information

  • To process and fulfil your order, including arranging delivery.
  • To communicate with you about your order (confirmations, delivery updates, support).
  • To meet our own legal and tax record-keeping obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Who we share it with

We share the minimum information necessary with:

  • PayFast (payment processing) — receives your name, email, and order amount to process payment.
  • The Courier Guy, Pep, or PostNet (whichever we use to fulfil your order) — receives your name, delivery address, and phone number to deliver your order.
  • Product suppliers — depending on the item, we may forward your name, delivery address, phone number, and email to the supplier who fulfils that item directly on our behalf.
  • Vercel — hosts this website. Afrihost — hosts our WooCommerce store and order data.

How long we keep your information

We retain order records for 5 years to meet tax and accounting requirements under South African law, and delete other personal information once it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for.

Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to:

  • Ask us what personal information we hold about you and request a copy.
  • Ask us to correct or delete inaccurate or outdated information.
  • Object to how we process your information.
  • Lodge a complaint with South Africa's Information Regulator if you believe your information has been mishandled.

Security

We use industry-standard measures — including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access to order data — to protect your information. No online system is completely secure, and we encourage you to contact us immediately if you suspect your information has been compromised.
